Like a trashier US version of Kath & Kim, this uproariously funny white trash cult classic takes a wicked peek into an extended family of Texas rednecks who’ve come together for the funeral of their adulterous matriarch. Attending the funeral are her dueling big-haired daughters LaVonda and Latrelle; sister Sissy, who picked the wrong time to quit smoking; a revengeful neighbor (Delta Burke); a Tammy Wynette-obsessed drag queen; Latrelle’s estranged gay son; and Bitsy Mae (Olivia Newton-John), a country music-singing ex-con lesbian!
With a spin-off TV series currently in production there’s no better time to catch all of the original tantrums, gossip and revelations in this film that deliriously revels at its beerguzzling, gun-toting, same sex-loving, pill-popping eccentrics!
